Shelter

Psalm 31:20, “You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in your presence, far from accusing tongues” (NLT).

Have you ever wished you could escape from everything going on in your life? Have you ever longed for a place where you where you could get away from the feelings of shame, embarrassment, or being misunderstood.

Fortunately for us, there is such a place. When I spend time in the presence of God only He and I exist. The craziness of my circumstances fades. The voices are silenced. My mind is stilled. My spirit is restored. And my heart feels safe.

There I am held. There I am understood. There I am forgiven, and redeemed, and loved.

Question: Have you ever thought about God’s presence as a refuge? As a shelter from the storms of life?

Proverbs 18:10, "The name of the LORD is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe" (NLT).

Psalm 27:5, "For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock" (NLT).
